RavenGIS.com promotes the economic benefits of the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Semantic Web by developing web sites that allow public participation in geographic data development, by allowing public access to geographic data produced through these web sites, and by integrating these tools and data with the Semantic Web.
DARPA Balloon Locator
The 2009 DARPA Red Balloon Challenge was setup to test how long it would take someone or some team to find and submit the correct location of ten red balloons put up simultaneously around the country.
I developed a web tool with a very simple premise: give everyone easy access to posting balloon locations and direct access to the list of balloons posted.
